I have to say that there were plenty of people out there who doubt Buffalo not only because of their record but because of the negative things the Bills have done as well. I like the Bills. Not because I like the "Underdog" or I feel sorry for them. I like the Bills because I am a lifetime fan and will never change my loyalty no matter what. Throughout these past ten years, I have seen the Bills lose and then lose some more. I have been criticized countless times for being a fan. I tough it out and hope for greener pastures. I know there are people who don't have the heart to stay loyal to a team who loses. I don't understand that thought process. If you are a loyal fan, that means sticking with your team. You expect them to lose every once in a while. Some of the best fan bases out there are from losing teams. You know why? Those people have heart and if I were to have a friend, I would want any of those "Loser fans" as friends/fans than all of you switch-up fans out there who don't have LOYALTY and only have shallow greed.
Now to my topic. I sat at O'briens last Sunday and watched the Bills and Steelers game with my girlfriend and some buddy's. We were surrounded by Steelers fans. These people were twice our age all decked out in their jerseys, hats, and terrible towels talking trash and speaking of statistics. These people were funny yet bitter. My kind of people. As we all watched the game, we traded verbal slams to one another and enjoyed company as well as the game. People predicted that this game would be a blowout and that the Steelers would mop the floor with the Bills. As the game unfolded, a horse of a new color showed it face as the Bills stuck with them till the bitter end and made these same skeptics eat their words for Buffalo almost won if it hadn't been for a few miscues and the receiving side. It cam down to OVERTIME and the Steelers won by 3 in a nail biter. After the game. We all shook hands and said "Good Game" as if we had played it. That was comradory and respect. Those were loyal fans acknowledging other loyal fans. It was a beautiful thing and I wish that others could partake in such past times as being good sportsmen instead of poor sportsmen.

Un Billiever's
I am online every other day to get the scoop on my team. If you can't guess which team that is, you are the type of person I write this blog for, the ignorant. Anyways, I recently checked to see the power rankings for both quarterbacks and all around teams. I saw that my team BUFFALO was ranked 28th just above the teams they beat out. I understand that there are people out there that just love to hate the Bills but that is being biast when it gets in the way of reporting for the NFL. You have to be NON biast and openminded. I also realize that because of Buffalo's record that they catch flack from sports writers and wanna be's. The truth is that although Buffalo has lost a majority of thier games and have statistically one of the worst run stopping defenses, they are one of the toughest teams out there. How about all of you haters out there get off your high horses and open your eyes to more than the negative when you see the Bills play.

Why So Serious?
The Bills have found themselves in the midst of a winning streak. Last game, Stevie Johnson had an undershirt that said "Why so serious?" on it. We found this out when he scored one of his three td's in the Bills 49-31 shalacking over the Bengals after being down by 21 points at the end of the first half. He put that on his t-shirt because it was a reference to Batman. T.O. and Ochocinco consider themselves Batman and Robin and he thought that he could play along and be Joker. The league will fine him for his actions but it wasn't really hurting anyone when he showed his t-shirt. He wasn't mocking anyone. Stevie was just having fun. Football still is a game right? The last time I checked it is. If it can be played in the streets by kids of all ages, then it's a game whether or not you get paid to play it. So lets say that they loosen up a little bit and cut Stevie some slack.
I was with my girlfriend at the local Bills bar in Tampa watching them play the Bengals. It was the first quarter and a half and the Bills were getting the snot beat out of them. I turned to her and said "We leave at the second half if they don't score before the half ends." As soon as I said that, they pretty much drove the length of the field and scored a TD lessening the deficite. Then I said "They sure don't like to make it easy on the fans now do they?" We ended up staying to watch one of the best come from behind wins in a long time. The Bills scored 35 unanswered points to beat the Bengals 49-31. I couldn't speak after that game because of the large amounts of yelling I did. The place was wild and I was a happy customer.
Do I think the Bills looked great in the second half? Yes I do, they have struggled with that in past games. Are the Bengals a good team? No, they are not a good team and I think they have too many super stars on thier team. Do I think the Bills have room to improve? Yes I do. Although they have improved at d-line and secondary, the line backing core and the zone d can be tighter because we are giving too many yards away to passes down the middle. Am I hopefull for the rest of the season? You bet your ass I am. The Bills always seem to find ways to amaze me. They have done nothing but improve this season and I feel it will only get better.

Lose out or continue to try to win?
I talk to many people about the choice that has to be made about the Bills 2010 season. Should they try and win out or throw in the towel and hope for the first pick of the draft? My opinion on this is morale. The team runs on it. If the Bills lose out and end up 1-16, think of how those players are going to feel about staying on a team that is that terrible. Those players are going to want to be traded, even the good ones. I personnally feel that a draft pick isn't going to fix any problem the Bills currently have. It's internal. This is everyone not consistantly coming together to produce wins. The Bills need solidity at positions. The line has had this issue for years whether you are looking at defense or offense. Recently, they switched Kelsay back to DE and might I say was one of the best moves they made all year. That man is made for that position. They took thier chances with an injured Merriman but the Bills organizations' heart was in the right place with that acquisition. If anything, they need to regroup and re-assess some of the players positions on the team. Florence, in the past few games has proven himself worthy of a starting job but there are others that need to step up or be gone. The organization tolerates slackers whether it be on or off of the field and I'm talking about coaches and coordinators. Chan is a great minded individual and I respect him but there are others who don't fit the mold of the Bills behind the scenes group. I realize on the last off-season there were many revisions to the coaching billets. I am glad for that but I think that it needs to be looked at again. There is no doubt in my mind that if the team we have now can take us places but it isn't going to happen if they aren't properly directed.
Now to the topic at hand. I personally feel that the Buffalo Bills should try and win as many games as possible to keep players interested in staying with the franchise. Also keeping the spirit up with the fans. After all, no one likes to see thier hometown team just lay down on the field. I will reference Dallas last week when they got spanked. Draft picks arent dependable. Many players cant play quality football past college because they just arent strong enough, fast enough, or able to stay on the field because of injuries. Too many factors play into a draft pick and I think that if we needed players, free agency and trades are always great options. After all, mister Wilson has alot of money to spend. How about he lets go of some of it and spend it on an acceptional player who isn't plagued with injuries.

Bills/Lions game review
Went to the game in Buffalo. It was nice other than the rain which was cold and annoying. Anyways, it was a great game all in all. The reffing core was a little to be desired. I am reffering to the supposed holding call on Corto when McKelvvin ran a kickoff back for a td. When watching the replays, I couldn't see any illegal moves from Corto. I was taught how to block and that looked like a good block. As long as the block doesn't leave the inside of the pads and you are right up on the defender, it's legal. It was a shame to see Spiller go out of the game in the second qtr. Fred Jackson took the majority of the snaps and did an excellent job even after he go injured also in the second after already having 80 yds on the ground and scoring 2td's. He still came back to go ove 100yd's rushing for the day. The receiving core was lacking but only because of the arid passes by Fitzpatrick. Reporting said that he sustained an injury to his hand in the Lions game and had to have it wrapped up. That was most likely why he threw alot of his passes over the open receivers. He did make some good passes. I was on the side of the field where he threw to Lee Evans for a nice gain inside the redzone. I also saw the only td's they scored by Jackson. It was an awesome game like I said. 14 to 12 was the result from a hard fought and amazing all around game by the Bills.

Qb's
The issue for Buffalo as far as people wanted to say for a long time is the qb position. I can not and will not agree with this. Atleast not 100%. My beef is with the line. Well, not the whole line. The one's that can stay healthy and don't miss blocks or get penalized constantly are good by me. In my eye's, the line is where it starts then you can say whether or not a qb is terrible. If a qb is getting atleast 4 seconds of protection and still comes up with int's/incompletes/sacks, then he stinks. Buffalo hasn't had a decent line for years. Oh wait, we haven't had a decent qb in years either. Go figure, you add that up. No like I said, it's not 100% the lines fault. Example, Trent Edwards. Regardless of the situation, this man is bad, hands down. When he got traded to the Jag's he stunk it up there too and they have atleast a decent line. Now that we have a qb that is along the lines of Flutie and Kelly as far as Toughness, Smartness, and Mobility, this position is not the issue. That doesn't stop the GM or whomever from trading him after he has a good or great season like they did all of the other talent we had. If Buffalo sticks with Fitzpatrick, he will take them places. Until a few weeks ago, he was one of the top rated qb's in the NFL behind Peyton Manning, pretty damn good if you ask me. Not to mention voted one of the smartest athletes in the United States. Beef up the line and watch the magic happen.

Damn Critics.....
I have the unfortunate privilege to hear whatever comes out of people's mouth's when they hear that I'm a fan of the Buffalo Bills. I know that they lost 4 Super Bowls. I know that they have a losing record. I also know that they have an outstanding playoff cold spell. Not to mention failing to have a consistent quarterback until lately. All of this, as true as it is, is every negative thing I have heard from these people who feel it is their duty to tell me about my teams misfortunes as if I already don't know. I don't know what they hoped to achieve by telling me this. But, I can say that it saddens me that people love to concentrate on the negative and never the positive. I get hatred and pity when I mention the Bills. I have no earthly idea why. I am a proud Bills fan through thick and thin. I will tell you that it isn't all bad on this side of the fence. The Buffalo Bills created the shotgun formation WENT to 4 Super Bowls, have the greatest comeback in NFL history, have one of the strongest fan bases in the NFL, the leading sack record in the NFL, 2000 yd rusher in a single season, and many more that I can't think of right now but you get the picture. For whatever reason a person may have to say anything bad about the Buffalo Bills, realize that nobody gives a damn about what you have to say. Stop trying to ruin someone’s day and project your hatred somewhere else.
Fred Jackson
On e of the most under rated running backs in the NFL. Again I harp on blocking. This all because I don't think that there will ever be another Barry Sanders in the National Football League atleast for as long as I live. Even with the black plague of death that sweeps over the Bills every season, he still manages to have a good season rushing. Last year, he had a thousand yard season. I know that almost every running back in the NFL today will get 1000yds in a season but considering what he had to work with in fron of him, he did pretty darn good. Even with this year, I still see him as an under rated player just like the team itself. As I said with Fitzy, the o-line needs to be healthy for him to have a good day.
Ryan Fitzpatrick
As a Harvard grad, he is said to be a smart quarterback. I do believe that he is. From seeing him play, the man posesses a certain degree of intelligence that allows him to make those consistant smart throws. It's true that he hasn't been blessed with an outstanding O-line. But, that is mostly due to injuries. Watching him play, he has poise in the pocket and even out of it it when he decides to run the ball. I also would like to add that we haven't had a QB since Flutie that wasn't afraid to put his head down and run for a few yards. Not only is he fearless with running, he takes those risks through the air. Since Edwards left, Fitzpatrick helped to break the Bills longest streak without a 300yd passing game by tossing it down the field a few times. He was voted recently as one of the smartest athletes in the country and also until this weeks game against the Chiefs, had the second highest passer rating in the NFL. He has had skeptics and probably still does. This guy is just now truly given a chance to lead the Bills and he has the misfortune of being there through all of this. That might just help him biuld character though. In future season, whether he stays in Buffalo or not, he will be a great QB but I'm not saying that he isn't now. He just needs some blocking. The wide receivers are all there. The lineman just need to give him 3 to 4 seconds atleast to throw the ball.
Reply to post about worst player in the NFL being Maybin
I don't think that Arron Maybin is the worst player in the NFL. I don't even think he is the worst on the Bills defense. Who I do think is terrible is Kelsay and Florence. Now, Kelsay was good at his defensive end spot when they were doing the 4-3 D. But, as soon as they switched to 3-4 and put him at outside LB, he stinks. I have been painfully watching all year as he has missed assignment after assignment and tackle after tackle. It digusting how slow he is compared to the rest of the linebackers. He just seems to be loafing around when the ball is snapped. I have been saying this from day one of his new position at OLB. If anything, just return him back to his original spot even if it means that he's second string. Well I guess since they spent a ton of money resigning him to more years for more money, that Chan Gailey wants to get his money's worth out of him. Well I have news for you Chan, he isn't working out at the position you put him at. Oh and the fact that he is one of the team captains bothers me as well when he misses a key tackle or route coverage. Speaking of missing coverage, #29 Florence since the start of the season, hasn't been able to match up to the starting position he was given. Every game is a horrible journey when the ball is in the air and in his direction. You just know the wide receiver is going to catch the ball. I think that anyone would be able to do a better job at his position than he. Take someone from the practice squad, sign a free agent, replce him with someone else on the roster I don't care. I am just tired of seeing him get burnt on a passing route for a big score. I realize that nobody is perfect but I think that you can be given only so many chances to prove yourself. Just because he made it to the NFL doesn't mean he can stop trying to better himself.
